Wow… it’s been almost 2 weeks since I posted! I apologize, life is just getting in the way right now. It’s not as if I’m not creating, because I am. I just haven’t had much time to spend on a card that I consider “blog-worthy”. Anyway, I made these cards a couple months ago, just never posted them. So, today… is the day!
Gelatos? Well, the last I knew you could get a Gelato in Little Italy.
… a truly yummy treat, however… in the paper-crafting world, Faber Castell has taken “Gelatos” to a whole new level. Hmm… how to describe them? They’re like paint in a chapstick container! They are so smooth and go on so easily. You can use them “as is” or use them with water! The colors are so intense and they blend so nicely!
My first attempt was to take the colors and color directly on the stamp. Then I took a mini-mister filled with water, sprayed my stamp and then stamped the paper! Not bad! Simple and so pretty!
My 2nd attempt was to use another product that I hadn’t used before. Gesso! I didn’t even know HOW to use it, so I set off to do some research. I decided in the end to just put some down haphazardly onto my card-stock that I had already misted with Dylusions Spray Ink. I smoothed it out, somewhat and then I applied Versamark to the background stamp and stamped the Gesso, giving it a lot of texture. Then I impatiently waited for it to dry. I’m not good at waiting, so I ended up using my heat gun to help speed up the process. Then I just started coloring on the color, taking my finger and blending them out. A very cool and “new for me” technique.
